Release date : Mon, 12/01/2025

Bruges/Brussels - Under the ICT framework contract for infrastructure solutions, Inetum won the contract for the Servers & Storage Lot. This project represents a potential value of €110 million over a three-year period, with the option to extend it three times for one year at a time thereafter.

At the end of last year, the City of Bruges extended its collaboration with Inetum for software licenses, followed by two new consultancy assignments for system management and cybersecurity. With the awarding of this lot, the delivery and support of server and data storage solutions are now also included.

Servers and storage for public institutions

Inetum will be responsible for the delivery, installation, and support of servers, storage, and backup solutions. The agreement also covers related components such as SAN switches, as well as management tools and other data center components.

Inetum will act as a purchasing center for Groep Brugge, local authorities in Flanders, and several specifically designated organizations. As with previous framework agreements, these institutions will have easy access to reliable and scalable IT infrastructure.

Digital sovereignty

“With this framework contract, we are strengthening the digital autonomy of Bruges and other Flemish authorities,” says Thomas Breuer, General Manager of Inetum Belgium. “Local governments retain full control over their data and IT infrastructure, in line with European regulations such as GDPR and NIS2. This enables them to shape their digital future independently, with solutions that guarantee security, continuity, and technological independence. This entrustment confirms the confidence in our approach, which is rooted in local presence and focuses on robust and scalable infrastructure. Thereby, we support Bruges and its partners with server and storage solutions that are reliable, efficient, and future-oriented, with attention to sustainability.”
